The Williams Challenge Story

Educational Opportunities at the Heart of The Williams Challenge

Since 2007, The Williams Challenge has provided scholarships to students in Summit County and surrounding areas, helping them pursue higher education and give back to their communities. Our annual golf outing supports this mission, creating opportunities for the future.

Williams Challenge Scholarship Fund

As a non-profit, we are committed to supporting low-income students through scholarships, empowering them to become productive citizens. Each year, we award scholarships to two high school seniors—one male and one female—who excel in academics and community service. Our goal is to create a lasting legacy for these students and their families.

The Power of Giving

The act of giving extends beyond the donor and recipient—it enriches the entire community. By helping those in need, we foster a spirit of generosity and unity. Those who receive today will give tomorrow, continuing a cycle of support. Together, we can build a brighter future, one student at a time—each one, teach one.

Executive Director, Williams Challenge

On behalf of the Williams Challenge, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters who have played a vital role in helping us fulfill our mission to uplift local youth. Your generosity has allowed us to provide life-changing scholarships through the Akron Urban League, helping students offset the rising costs of college and positively impact their futures.

Our mission goes beyond financial assistance; we aim to promote excellence in education, sports, community service, and personal development. The majority of our scholarships are funded through our annual golf fundraiser held each June, which welcomes golfers of all skill levels for a day of fun and purpose. We also rely on the generous contributions of private donors, corporate partners, and hole sponsors to make our mission a reality.

Thank you for your continued support, and we invite you to join us at our next event and help us continue making a positive difference.
